Gracie Roberta Littlejohn

September 15, 1923 — June 7, 2018

Gracie was a gift, treasure, and blessing from God: Gracie Roberta (Chambers) Littlejohn transitioned into eternal rest on June 7, 2018. Her light and caring influence will forever shine within those she touched. Born in Jackson, Tennessee on September 15, 1923 to Marguerite Long and Paul Haynes Sr. Raised by her Grandmother Ernestine Long quite common in the South at the time. Her Mother died at a very young age. She lived in Chicago for a short time and then moved to St Louis, Mo. Two siblings resulted from her father’s remarriage Sarah Simmons (Rey) St. Louis Mo. and Paul Haynes Jr. (Doris) of Oakland, Ca. both siblings are now deceased. Gracie provided a legacy of care, commitment and conversation often providing insight, understanding and influence that resulted in the improvement of the individual in overcoming challenges. Gracie became a Licensed Vocational Nurse in her mid-50’s when the family moved to California. She was a devoted mother and wife who extended that same care and attention to detail to her five children she raised: Marguerite Byrd (deceased), Marlene King (Harrold) Okemah, Ok., Howard Chambers Jr. (Sheree) Mill Valley, Ca., Paul Chambers (deceased) and Karen Johnson Elk Grove, Ca. As heartbreaking as it is, she has moved on to her well-deserved peace however a bright light will forever shine in our hearts. We would like to thank Eskaton Carmichael for providing the care during this transition, as well to all those who provided kind words and encouragement to the family. There will be a private celebration of life for the family to be scheduled at a future date. Arrangements were handled by: Sierra View Funeral Chapel & Crematory.
