Joelson, Gordon Dahlberg Gordon Dalhberg Joelson has gone home to be with the Lord after a long and full lifetime. He was born in Sydney, Montana on May 25, 1927, and passed away in his home on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2015, at the age of 88. He served in the US Navy as a fireman on the USS Quick during WWII. After returning to Sacramento he and his father were partners in their business, Ben Ali Cabinet Shop in North Sacramento. When his father retired, they closed the shop and he went to work for Aerojet, where he was promoted to supervisor in his department. After leaving Aerojet he worked for Los Rios College District for many years until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathryn, his son Gordon ""Joey"" Joelson Jr., his daughter-in-law Laila, his daughter Diane Brown and her husband Dale, his daughter Jennifer Pope and her family, his step daughters, Karyn McWhorter and Sharon Fink and their families. He was blessed by his many grandchildren and step grandchildren: Joshua (Somerset) Patten, Hunter Brown, Faye, Dylan and Sophia Joelson, Anthony Needham, Sean and April Syrek, and Brandon Fink. Family and friends are welcome to attend his graveside service on Nov. 18 at 11:00, Mt. Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks , or the reception following at his home.
