Gloria Delphine Plog, 91, of Carmichael, California, passed into eternal rest onFebruary 13, 2021 in the presence of her children. Welcoming her in heaven isher husband of 55 years Calvin Plog. She was born to parents Alex P Dalske and Agnes Dalske, on 11 April 1929 in Marathon, Wisconsin. Grandchildren Jon, Melissa and Jeffrey and many siblings predeceased her, 5 Dalske siblings in the last 5 months, Alfred, Dorothy, Angeline, Virginia, and Gloria. She prevailed over life's challenges raising 10 children: Sheila Johnson, Calvin Plog(Bette Ann), Tony Plog(Sue), Charles Plog(Laurie), Cheryl Carter, Michael Plog, Susan Philip(Breck), Mary Plog, Tracy Sharp, Stacey Meulhofer(Lutz). She leaves 11 beloved grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Gloria operated her own licensed Daycare Center and made a big pot of vegetable soup daily for 28+ years for the children. On their birthday she made each a Birthday Cake. She retired in 1995 but still made time to care for grandchildren. Following her Catholic faith as Eucharistic minister she visited the sick and homebound. Gloria was honored with a Woman of the year for the Sacramento Deanery 4 times for sewing hundreds of quilts for the homeless given through St Vincent de Paul , also spending time as a Loaves and Fishes volunteer, working with Catholic Daughters of the Americas and many other organizations. Other honors include being an active participant in The Women's Health Initiative for over 20 years. Her hobbies included growing beautiful roses and delicious peaches. She used to can but in later years enjoyed giving baskets of fruit to friends. The family has entrusted Sierra View, Carmichael with the arrangements. There will be a rosary and wake Feb 24 at 6PM. A live-streamed Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Feb 25, 11 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, with internment following at Calvary Cemetery. Father Eduino Silveira will officiate ceremonies. Due to Covid, there will be no reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Loaves and Fishes, Sacramento; St Vincent de Paul, OLA Parish; Mustard Seed School Sacramento.
