LAST KISS
You leaned over the recliner chair
Where I lightly dosed next to your bed
Pressing your face against mine, gently
Pulling on my lips I received your kiss.
Slowly opening my eyes, I see you lying
In bed, so I arise to offer you water only
To find your lips will not receive it
And your chest no longer rises to breathe
The air between us. Thank you my love
For that last kiss. Our love has no end.
Your loving wife, Norma.
