Gary Lee Cowden

Gary passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2024 after a short battle with lung cancer. He was 76 years old.

Born on July 4, 1947 in San Francisco, California to Robert Cowden and Charlotte (Daley) Kellogg.
Gary graduated from Mira Loma High School in 1965, served two years in the US Army where he fought in the Vietnam War.

He retired from the State of California (Caltrans) in 2005 after 33 years of service.

Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janice, son Cory Cowden (wife Elise), stepsons Robert and Jason Fausett, Grandson Keegan Cowden, Granddaughter Colette Cowden, sisters Sharon Harris and Charlene Patton, brothers Frank Cowden and Jay Cowden.

Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always put others before himself. He was a devoted 49ers, Giants, and Kings fan, an avid golfer, and lover of the outdoors.

He will be missed by many.
