Frank Allen Duffy (1931-2016) Frank Duffy passed away peacefully at his home on December 2nd. A San Francisco native, Frank was born on January 30, 1931. He was the first of seven children born to Frank and Alice ""Dolly"" Duffy. He is preceded in death by both his parents and close sister Barbara. Frank is survived by his cherished wife of 58 years Elene; his four children: Denise, Janet, Frank (Kelli), Karla; and his nine grandchildren: Caelen & Brenna, Clayton, Brian, Nicolle & Lauren, Malik, Elijah and Anthony. Frank will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Frank proudly served our country overseas in the Navy during the Korean War. He expressed interest and aptitude in the medical field, so he was assigned to be a Navy Corpsman aboard the USS Hamul during his deployment. He proved himself to be such an asset in this position, his fellow sailors would come to call him Doc. Upon returning home after the war, he married the love of his life, Elene. Together they raised their family in Pacifica, where they lived for over 30 years. He spent his career as a lineman at Pacific Bell. He was a very hard worker and was looked up to by many of his co-workers as a mentor and friend. Frank and Elene enjoyed traveling and took many trips, including Greece and Mexico. His favorite vacations were at Dunsmuir, where they would many times with both friends and family. Frank enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes and strawberries. He was especially good at engineering watering and support systems for his gardens. He loved going fishing with his friends and family. He had many stories of fishing trips and teaching his children to fish was cherished memory for him. Frank will be missed by all whose life he touched. His passing is deeply felt by his children and grandchildren. Frank leaves us with a deep sadness, but also with wonderful memories, funny stories, life lessons and much love. He was a great man and we will miss him everyday.
