Florence E. Robbins

d. December 21, 2020

Florence “Flo” Ella (Hager) Robbins passed away in Sacramento on December 21, 2020, finally freed from the mental prison that Alzheimer’s had held her in for the last portion of her life. She was born on June 24, 1943 to Mamie Damron Hager and Fred Wilson Hager in Logan, West Virginia. She graduated from Logan High School in 1962. She then moved to Ohio with a friend of hers from high school. She also lived for a time in Bermuda with her sister, Irene. They had many fun adventures there, fishing and seeing bugs the size of small animals. After moving back to the states, she married Gene Robbins. They had one daughter, Belinda “Lin” Gene, the light of her mothers’ eye. They later divorced. At that time, Florence and Lin moved to West Virginia and then on to Utah. They lived a couple of years in Utah and then ventured on to Sacramento, California to live with her sister, Irene and her niece, Victoria, or “Vic-TOR Dennis Boaz” (a nickname she gave her niece). Florence had a wonderful and naughty sense of humor that she would pretend she did not have! Florence and Lin would remain in Sacramento and call it home. Florence worked at Elixir Industries for near 20 years. She then worked at LD Brinkman for over 20 years as an Asst. Credit Manager. She worked there until she retired in 2002. She spent her retirement doing yard work and taking care of her flowers that she loved so much. She grew amazingly beautiful red geraniums and roses. She also took care of her grandboy fur-babies, Peanut and Patches and her granddaughter fur-baby, Connie-Girl. She adored them all so much. In 2009, Florence was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. During this time, Lin took such great care of her mama. The love and patience that Lin gave her mother was overwhelmingly beautiful. Lin did this all on her own, being an only daughter. All the time working full time to provide for them. In 2019, Florence was placed into an Alzheimer’s Care Center where she lived until her passing due to COVID 19. Florence is survived by her daughter, Belinda “Lin” (Sacramento, Ca.), her sister, Irene Albritton, (Utah), nieces Victoria Norton, Karen Mauchley, Sandra Wade and nephews, Ron Hager and Fred Hager, (all from Utah). She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mamie, her beloved brother, Ernest Hager and her beautiful sister-in-law, Anna Hager, and her recently deceased great nephew Michael Norton. Just imagining the joyous reunion, she is having with her family in heaven is so comforting and helps with the heartache of her passing.
