Eva was born in Thunder Butte, South Dakota on March 29, 1945 to Guy Antone Bagola and Mary Straighthead. Eva loved talking about all the memories she had made while living on the reservation in South Dakota. From the cold winters of bundling up with family to the hot summers of running around trying to stay cool. She attended Cheyenne agency school and later on graduated in 1963 from St. Mary’s Indian school for girls in Springfield, South Dakota. After school she moved to Texas, and eventually moved to California.

In 1982 she married Thomas Dean Jost in San Jose, California. They were married for over 25 years before Thomas passed in 2007. She had three beautiful daughters Mary Bagola, Jacqueline LeBeau, and Tara Jost. She had seven amazing grandchildren Elizabeth Blair, Mosiah Arteaga, Jeremy Bagola, Alexander Bagola, Tyler Van Alstyne, Thomas Van Alstyne, and Kayte Van Alstyne. She also had three great-grandsons, Terance Blair, Ethan Blair, and Abram Bagola.

Eva earned a certification in accounting that she put to good use over the course of her work history. She eventually settled into work at Health Net where she retired with over 10 years of service. Her love for accounting led to her saving everything. From receipts that dated back 20 years ago to important documents. There was value to everything and it was all to be accounted for.

She loved to cook for her family and friends. She was an amazing host and selected all the best songs to listen to. What she loved to do the most was take her family shopping. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She wanted to have the entire house decorated with all things festive. When the family got together a few things were always on the agenda: eating, laughing, and watching sports. She loved watching all sports but football (49ers) and basketball (Kings) were always at the top of the list. She was a loving mother, sister, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. Being with her family brought her the greatest joy. Once she learned how to send memes, she sent them all the time on facebook. She always had a listening ear without judgment and gave the best advice.

Preceding her in death are Thomas Jost her loving husband, Jacquline LeBeau her beautiful daughter, Guy Bagola her father, Mary Straighthead her mother, Esterline Low Dog her older sister, Gyla Jandreau her younger sister, Melvin Bagola her brother, Nathan Bagola her brother and Hilda Marshall her sister.

She is survived by her daughters Mary Bagola, Tara Jost. All her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her sister Laura Bagola.
