February 25, 1951 — March 3, 2022

Eric Alan Hunter, born on February 28, 1951 at Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento California, died on March 03, 2022 following a sudden, terrible automobile collision. His mother Marion Hunter and father, Ralph R. Hunter Sr. and brother Ralph R. Hunter Jr. pre-deceased him, as did Franki Fike, his long time committed relationship partner, with whom he would have married had it been legally allowed before Franki’s death. He is survived by his brother Keith Hunter and by Frank and Janith Fike, parents of Franki Fike who became like second parents to him, by friend Keith and Ramon Anderson and by aunts and uncles and by many other life long friends scattered around the country and the world. The list is long but First, it begins with his mother’s English heritage as she was born in England: Cousin: Barbara Wilkinson, of London. Second is his father’s heritage: born in the Southwest USA: Aunt: Maryann Terrell, of Texas Other long term friends include: Sue Wood Belisle, Gail Goodrich Hansen, Tanya Beard, Amanda Gorman, Gloria King, Eric graduated from Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova California where he became a life long friend of Betty Will and Richard Will, his teacher, who survive him. After High School He then attended American River College and Sacramento City College, with a business and accounting emphasis, placing him in the top ten in his classes. A hard worker in childhood, he worked nearly full time while in high school at a little bakery donut shop next to Raleys with Richard Will. Eric later began working at Raley’s Super Market at entry level and progressing to Assistant Drug Center Manager until retirement in 2006. From 2008 until 2016 he worked for Richard Will, (who had become an Attorney), as his office and legal assistant, after which he began a new career as night manager of Arden Star Hotel in Sacramento, while periodically assisting Richard Will until his death. His remains were cremated as he requested in his Advance Directive and his ashes, at his request, will be placed with the ashes of Franki Fike’s at a location in Missouri. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 2;00 P.M. at CEDARWOOD MOBILE HOME PARK, located at #6 Milbrook CirSacramento, California. All friends and family are invited and welcome to come give a final honor to Eric, a unique, gentle and loving man.
