Elijah Joe Dabbs

The family wishes to announce the death of Elijah J. Dabbs, age 89. Past away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 9:30 am at Saylor Lane Healthcare in Sacramento, CA. He was born in Eufaula, Oklahoma on March 31, 1929. Husband to Audrey Dabbs. Father to Joseph, Kathy, and Ronda. Grandfather to many. He served in the Korean War from May 21, 1951- May 25 1953. He received the Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal and the Purple Heart Medal when he was injured in Central Korea on September 15, 1951. He re-enlisted for 6 years on May 26, 1953. For the last 25 years, Joe spent his time at AMVETS & the VFW where he met most of his closest friends. He had the time of his life socializing, singing karaoke, and dancing. He proudly earned the nickname ‘Dancing Joe’ “The song has ended but the melody lingers on…” -Irving Berlin
