Duane Rogers

August 15, 1949 — August 12, 2021

On August 12, 2021 Duane Eugene Rogers of Rancho Cordova passed away at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cynthia, son Jason Rogers, mother Virginia Rudolph, sisters Sherry Ellis (David), Lorry Rudolph, Kitty Bailey (Scott), Tammy Trujillo (Robert), and step-daughters Destiny Westbrooks (David) and Cierra Lewandowski, step-son Jacob Lewandowski (Sharla), and Grampy to Morgan, Camryn, Cora, Gabriel, Corban, Danielle, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Rogers and step-father George Rudolph. Duane graduated from Cordova High in 1968 and shortly thereafter was drafted into the US Army for 2 years. He served his country with pride and thus started his passion for supporting the US Troops and Veterans. In his youth, he was a short order cook at the Pancake Parade until 1976 and has always loved to regale his friends and family with his favorite stories from the kitchen. He graduated from American River College in 1977 where he studied Drafting Technology; he worked as a draftsman for over 40 years. Duane was a member of Cordova Church of Christ since 1986; he dedicated his time serving as a Bible class teacher for 5th and 6th graders and developed the first church computer lab. He was an avid woodworker and loved to spoil his grandkids with his creations. Duane will always be remembered as a generous soul who was often seen bringing doughnuts for everyone. He will be missed, but we take comfort knowing he is in peace with the Lord. If you would like, please consider sending a donation to the Veteran’s Home of California, Yountville in Duane’s honor.
