Doris Elizabeth Crosson (Holets) Doris E. Crosson passed away peacefully in Sacramento at Kaiser Sacramento Medical Center with her son at her side on May 07, 2015 after a brave battle with congestive heart failure. She was 80 years old. Doris was born on May 13, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA and attended Frankford High School. As a young adult she enjoyed working for several years at the record counter inside H.L. Green five-and-dime store. In 1951 she married Joseph W. Crosson, who became a career solider and war veteran in the United States Army. For twenty years, Army assignments shuffled the young couple around the USA and foreign locations including Germany, Italy, Taiwan and Alaska. After her husband retired, she settled down in Tucson, Arizona with her family and lived there as a homemaker from 1974 to 2013. In April 2013 she relocated to California's capital city during her sunset years. Doris was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband of over fifty years. She is survived by her son Michael, two daughters Amanda and Jennifer, and grandchildren, Adam and Secret. Doris enjoyed an eclectic range of interests and hobbies over the years including playing piano, popular music (especially ""oldies"" from the 50's, 60's and 70's and country), classic cinema, macramé, astrology, board games (Scrabble and Monopoly were favorites), TV shows (including soaps, Jeopardy, Lawrence Welk, American Idol, The Bachelor and Shark Tank), cooking, holiday season activities, shopping for bargains at retail sale events, socializing on the computer, occasional gaming at the casino and reminiscing about bygone days in Philly (especially the unforgettable food). We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff members at Kaiser that treated her with kindness and lifted her spirits in the final weeks. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife. She will be missed dearly. At her request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association or the ASPCA.
