Folsom, California – Donald (Don) Eugene Kinter of El Dorado Hills, passed away at Mercy Hospital Folsom on November 27, 2023 at the age of 75. Don was born in Sacramento, CA on August 7, 1948 to Harry and Antoinette Kinter as the third of three children. Don was predeceased by his parents and his older sister Catherine. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Melinda, and their three children, Zachary, Caleb and Isaac, as well as his brother Charlie. Don was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Amira, Ivory, Iysis, Wesley, Aysia and Charles. He was also uncle to many dear nieces and nephews. When Don was six years old his family moved to Auburn, CA. He attended Placer High School where he excelled athletically, playing varsity basketball, baseball and football, earning MVP honors in all three his senior year. He then attended the University of San Francisco for a few years before transferring to Sacramento State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Following college he went on to work at Manuel Joseph’s Appliance Center for nearly 50 years, where he would become warehouse manager and serve as an integral part of the company. In 1979 Don married Melinda, with whom he would go on to raise a family. In 1984 they moved to El Dorado Hills, where Don spent the majority of his adult life. Don played a major role in this community where he coached multiple youth sports teams and built strong relationships with a wide range of families over many years. His achievements included leading multiple baseball teams to district championships. He also served as the announcer for the Oak Ridge High School Varsity Football Team
for a number of years. He took great pleasure in helping young people strive to reach their potential, and treasured the relationships that he had built over his lifetime through his many endeavors. He will be remembered as a man of great passion and pride who loved his family and friends.

Don's memorial service will take place at Foothills Church on Friday December 15th, 2023 at 11:00 am.  Address: 2380 Merrychase Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682.
