Dirk L. Trone

March 6, 1956 — December 11, 2020

Dirk L. Trone, age 64, died from a fatal heart attack while at work in Napa, California, on December 11. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and provider. He was born on March 6, 1956 to Dudley and Louise Trone. Dirk is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Kathy Trone, three children, Tory Trone, Nick Trone and his wife Elainea, and Kari Blanchard and her husband Ken. He is also survived by five grand children, Emilia, Sophia, Lilah, Autumn, and Weston. In addition to his parents Dudley and Louise, he is survived by three brothers and wives, Denton and Rissa Trone, Drew and Lydia Trone, and Darren and Debbie Trone. Also by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, and friends. Dirk was a strong member of the church. He started attending services as a very young child. He and Kathy were both baptized on April 4, 1981 and ordained as deacon and deaconess on April 26, 2008. Dirk had a servant’s heart and enjoyed serving his church community. If you attended any gathering with him, he was likely working behind the scenes to help it all go smoothly. He was the auditorium manager for Steamboat Springs, CO, for the last several years, and for St. George, Utah this last year, among serving many other feast sites over the years. Dirk was a general and plumbing contractor, but could do pretty much anything involved in construction. He learned his trade from his father and worked with him and his three brothers before striking out on his own. He was later recruited and hired by a design firm as head foreman working on expensive home remodels and new home construction. Thirty years ago Dirk moved his family to almost 30 acres in the mountains where he again built a home for his family. Dirk loved living there and raising his family away from the hustle and bustle of the city. He was a cancer survivor of 15 years. Two months after his final cancer treatment, he regained his strength and returned to work. His health remained good and he remained cancer free. The heart attack came as a complete shock to his family. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, restoring cars, riding motorcycles, and just being outdoors. He was an extremely hard worker. He seemed to be able to build and fix almost anything. Mostly he fiercely loved his family and was thrilled to be the Papa to his five grand babies. Dirk will be missed by many people, especially his family and they are anxious for the resurrection to see and hug him again.
