Debra Kay Lema

On Friday, September 30, 2022, Debra Lema, loving wife, mother of three, and grandmother of five, passed away at the age of 66 in Sacramento, California with her son by her side.

Debbie was born September 16, 1956 in York, Nebraska to Robert and Dorothy Hatfield. She has been survived by her devoted husband of 45 years Larry Lema, son Christopher (Judy), twin daughters Meagen (Arick) and Courtney (Jesus) and five grandchildren Scarlett, Aidan, Aria, Josie, and Stella, father Robert, and her two sisters Kathy and Denise. She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy.

Debbie had a 20 year career in healthcare which began as a Certified Nursing Assistant, then a Licensed Vocational Nurse, until ultimately receiving a Registered Nursing degree at the age of 50 – she was very proud of this accomplishment as she achieved this while going to school, working full time, and raising her children.

Debbie was very social and loved hosting large gatherings and being around other people. She enjoyed sewing, reading books, watching horror flicks, and most of all being a Grammie. Material things were of no interest to her – her goal was to make sure that whoever was in her company was content and happy. Debbie provided without reservation, forgave without resentment, and loved unconditionally.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7 th at 11am PST at Sierra View Funeral Chapel and Crematory located at 6201 Fair Oaks Boulevard., Carmichael, CA 95608. A reception will follow.
