Deborah Ann Robrecht

August 6, 1948 — September 8, 2019

Deborah “Debbie” Robrecht passed away on September 8, 2019. Debbie was 71 when she passed. She is preceded by husband Michael Robrecht and granddaughter Lucy Robrecht. Debbie is survived by her three sons Patrick, Eric, and Brian Robrecht, along with daughter in-law Mary Robrecht (married to Eric) and their children Ruby and Max. Debbie was born in Los Alamos, NM on August 6, 1948 to proud parents: Mary and Julian “Pat” Patenaude. As a child, she lived in both New Mexico and Nebraska before moving to the Golden State at the age of 12. Debbie and her parents lived in Walnut Creek, where she attended Sacred Heart. She then had the privilege of being part of the first 4-year class to graduate from the then new Ygnacio Valley High School. Debbie always wanted to be a nurse and pursued her dream at Chico State University. While in school, she met her future husband Michael. Upon graduating with a BS in Nursing, Debbie and Mike were married on September 5, 1970. After living in the bay area for a couple years, Mike and Debbie moved to Sacramento, where they would raise their family. Debbie was very active at Presentation, where her three sons attended Kindergarten – 8thgrade. During her tenure at Presentation, Debbie served multiple terms on the Parent Guild and was parish treasurer. She was recognized for her efforts when selected as Woman of the Year. She also started the Extended Day Care Program at Presentation with help from Lorraine Libal and Wilda Bloomstine. As a Nurse, Debbie started in San Jose at Good Samaritan and retired from Mercy General in Sacramento. She worked in post-anesthesia recovery (PAR) and eventually moved into Educational Services. While in Educational Services, Debbie served two terms as Chair Woman of the annual health fair. She also taught classes ranging from nursing orientation to CPR and IV Therapy. Debbie retired on medical disability due to a work related injury. After retiring, she took on the difficult role of a single mother when her husband Michael passed away from cancer in 1991. Debbie remained active by supporting the Mira Loma High School Booster Club, and volunteering for support groups such as New Beginnings and Widowed Persons Association of California. Debbie also loved to travel and see live shows. Along with friends and family, Debbie explored Europe, the Panama Canal, Central America, Alaska, and of course Lake Tahoe. She held season tickets to Music Circus and the Broadway shows for many years. Her two favorite shows were Les Miserables and Mamma Mia. Debbie was very family and service oriented. She was always willing to help out, chaperone a field trip, and even serve as the team nurse. Debbie’s greatest accomplishment and her pride in life were her children and grandchildren. While her time was cut short, it is with a great deal of relief that she now shares eternal life with loved ones. Funeral services for Debbie Robrecht will be held at Presentation Church at 10:00 on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Address is 4123 Robertson Ave., Sacramento, CA 95821. Reception will also be held at Presentation following the mass
