In Celebration of an Extraordinary Life
David (Dave) Anthony Refuerzo, age 70, left this world peacefully in Sacramento on January 1, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Hazel Refuerzo, and brothers, Al and Robert Refuerzo. Dave is survived by his cherished wife Betty, with whom he shared 38 years, his loving daughter Lori (Paul) Sinor, a talented granddaughter Kayla and siblings, Edward Refuerzo and Lorraine (Dave) Fulwiler, also a large extended family of stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. His love extended to three step grandchildren, Eli, Ismael and Phillip, whom he raised as his own, instilling in them spiritual and respectful values. Trusting in God to guide him through life, he truly believed God blessed him with this family whom he loved.
Dave’s generous spirit touched many lives, and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he dedicated himself to ensuring the safety of his neighbors and their community.
Beyond his compassionate nature, Dave had a profound passion for restoring classic cars and trucks, participating in car shows, and winning several trophies along the way. As a self-taught musician, when he played the guitar or piano the music flowed effortlessly through his fingers filling the house with many soulful melodies.
His garage was a sanctuary of creativity, where he spent countless hours devoted to cleaning and polishing cars and auto parts while also working his magic on the many projects he created mostly from various metals.
In 1985 Dave decided to make a change and began a successful career in the sheet metal industry after completing a 5-year apprenticeship program. He retired in 2010 after 25 years in the profession and enjoyed taking many unforgettable vacations with his wife, Betty.
Dave lived his life to the fullest and was an extraordinary person (one of a kind). He was known to be strong, talented, witty, and inspirational. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him, and Dave will always have a special place in our hearts. He leaves behind a treasure chest of memories filled with love, laughter and Old English!
