Auburn, CA a€"" Darlene Spear, a long-time resident of the Sierra Foothills, lost her battle with pulmonary fibrosis on Monday the 13th of April, 2015 at Siena Care in Auburn. Born in 1931 in Lake Mills, IA., Darlene graduated from high school in Mason City, IA in 1947. Darlene held positions right out of school as a bookkeeper and later moved to Denver, CO with her sister Della and best friend Hazel. Darlene moved to Oakland, CA where she met her husband Russell C. Spear and gave birth to two daughters, Cheryl and Kim. Darlene loved her two daughters and granddaughter and enjoyed going on trips with her family. Darlene was a beautiful red head, had a heart of gold and a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Baker and Kim Yates, granddaughter Christina Baker whom live in California and Sister, Dorothy Dorn and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will held on Friday May 8th, 2015 at 3:45 PM located at Combie Bible Church, 22924 W. Hacienda Drive, Grass Valley, CA. A celebration of Darlene's life will follow at the residence of her daughter.
