Clarine “Babe” Jacklyn Busick

August 13, 1937 – February 25, 2025

Clarine "Babe" Jacklyn Busick, 87, of Carmichael, California, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 13, 1937, in Greeley, Colorado, to Clarence and Helen Kenney. At the age of three, her family moved to Venice, California, where she spent her childhood and later graduated from Venice High School in 1955. During her youth, she was honored to serve as Honor Queen of Job's Daughters in Venice.

On March 23, 1957, Clarine married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Ralph "Bud" Busick. For 68 wonderful years, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to their family. While raising her children, Clarine was a dedicated homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing home. Later, she pursued a successful career, working as a Data Coordinator at Rand Corporation in Santa Monica, a Documentation Supervisor at Systron Donner Corporation, and at Giga-tronics in San Ramon.

Faith played an important role in Clarine's life. She was a devoted member of Concord United Methodist Church for over 40 years and was also a longtime member of Venice Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and found joy in serving her community.

Clarine was known for her vibrant energy and adventurous spirit. She loved staying active, enjoying exercise, swimming, tennis, and bicycling. Hawaii held a special place in her heart – Maui and Kauai were her favorite vacation destinations. An avid reader, she could often be found with a novel in hand, immersing herself in new romances and adventures.

Clarine was a caring and selfless person who never met a stranger and had a natural gift for making people feel special. Family was the center of her world. She delighted in card games and brought laughter to family gatherings with spirited games of charades. Christmas was made extra special by her tradition of making homemade candies, with her grandchildren eagerly helping at her side. A wonderful cook and hostess, she always made everyone feel at home with her meals and hospitality.

She is survived by her husband, Bud Busick; her sisters, Charlotte Johnson of Westminster, California, and Charline and her husband Sig Gronich of Oceanside, California; her children, Blake Busick and his wife, Peggy, of Carmichael, California, and Barbara Clark and her husband, Kevin, of Angels Camp, California. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to four grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Clarine's life will be held at Fair Oaks United Methodist Church (9849 Fair Oaks Blvd. Fair Oaks, CA 95628) on March 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Concord United Methodist Church (1645 West St. Concord, CA. 94521).

Her warmth, kindness, and boundless energy will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
