Cheryl Jean (Griffin) Belton April 3, 1953 – February 24, 2018 Cheryl was born in the Oakland Naval Hospital, CA. She was the oldest of seven children growing up in Carmichael and was a resident of Citrus Heights for the past 40 years. She graduated from El Camino High School in 1971 and worked for the State of California (EDD) for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her son, Scott Belton, and her father, Richard Griffin. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steven, son Tom, daughter-in-law Tyla, grandsons, Cameron and Kaden, her mother Mary Joycelyn Griffin, her siblings, Ken Griffin (Joanne), Janet Wilson (Larry), Jim Griffin (Yoly), Anne Gezi (Brian), Patty Paulsen (Keith), John Griffin (Jeanne), sister-in-law, Lyne Griffin (Art), Uncle Raymond Griffin, Aunt Thomasa Pamplona-Mauldin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cheryl had a heart of gold and was the most generous and loving person. She was a huge SF Giants fan and long-time Sacramento Kings season ticket holder. She was very passionate about sports and her favorite teams. She enjoyed country music, karaoke with friends, and playing Bingo with all her Bingo Buddies. She loved spending time with her large family and enjoying the many family gatherings. Her greatest pride and joy was watching her grandsons excel at the various sports they played and she loved spoiling them very much. Cheryl will be greatly missed by all who loved her. A viewing will be held onThursday, March 15that the Sierra View Funeral Chapel (6201 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael) from5:00-6:30, followed by a Rosary Service at6:30. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church (5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael) on Friday, March 16that 12:30, followed by an escorted procession to Calvary Catholic Cemetery for a graveside burial. A reception will follow at St. John’s Hall back at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org) in Cheryl’s name.
