Charles William Miars

June 13, 1952 — July 29, 2024

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Charles W. Miars. Born on June 13, 1952 to Marian Emma and Charles Cora Miars. Chuck was born with a kind heart and the gift to charm. He was fiercely loyal to his family and his friends. He lived his life being a friend to anyone he met, and there isn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for someone. In turn, he appreciated everything anyone did for him, regardless of it was their job or just out of the kindness in their heart. He was good about telling you how appreciated you were.
In Chuck’s earlier days, you would find him riding his bike for miles or down at Ancil Hoffman throwing a frisbee and barbecuing with friends. Chuck spent his free time working on cars, restoring old furniture/electronics, and fixing anything broken. He always had to keep himself busy and could do just about anything, without the need to read an instruction manual. He loved to be at the river, skipping rocks with his dogs Ray and then Caesar, drinking a beer, and just living life in the moment.
In the more recent years, Chuck spent a great deal of time with many friends from all walks of life. He was fond of a couple of very special friends, Debbie and Dan who are the most upstanding people and who helped him many times in life, which included daily visits until the evening of his passing. He loved his grandchildren, his nieces and nephews. He was so proud of all of them and would happily tell you about them if you were willing to listen. Chuck had no greater love on the Earth than he had for his daughter, Nichol. From her first day on Earth to his last, he believed she rose and set the sun. He proudly talked about her to anyone he knew. He was grateful to have the opportunity to be called Dad. He always remembered her telling him, “Dad, how bad do you want it?”. He used this as motivation and relied on those words to get him
through the darker, unsettling days in the last year. In the end, he fought as bravely and as heroically as he could, to spend more minutes here on Earth. On his last day, he passed away peacefully and in no pain with his daughter there, holding his hand.
Charles was survived by his daughter, Nichol (Michael), his three grandchildren Tyler, Jake, and Ashley, great granddaughter Aaliyah, two brothers, Earl (Patsy) and James, and his sister Kay (Terry). He had numerous nieces and nephews, all of which he was so proud of. Charles was fortunate to have wonderful friendships with Dan, Debbie, Dewayne, and a long time friendship with Mike O’Neil. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marian and Charlie, sister Margaret, sister in law Melodee, brothers Brad and John.
At this time, the family wishes to thank First Call Hospice for their tireless efforts to us all. Charles loved each of his nurses, the Chaplain, Claire, and his social worker, Jennifer-all from First Call. We also greatly appreciate Sierra View Mortuary for helping us through such a difficult time, with ease.
Some of Chuck’s closest friends have arranged for a Catholic mass to be said in his name on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 8:30am at St. John’s the Evangelist Church 5751 Locust Avenue Carmichael, CA 95608. In addition, a small, casual celebration of Chuck’s life will take place on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Ancil Hoffman Park 6700 Tarshes Drive Carmichael, Ca 95608 (small fee to enter park). Visiting hours will be from 6:30pm-8:30pm, with a short ceremony at sunset. Chuck always said, “you can’t do better than your best”. Well, Dad, in the end, you did better than your best and I will always be so proud of you. Until I see you again.

Oh, the end of all our breath is the beginning of new life, you’re gonna be alright-L. Daigle
