Charles Ivan “Eddie” McKean
November 12, 1938 – January 21, 2023

Charles Ivan McKean aka Eddie McKean was born on 11/12/1938 to Charles James and Hattie Eva
McKean. Eddie, who was one of eight children grew up on the Wilton Rancheria in Wilton California. He
went to Dillard Elementary School before attending Elk Grove High School where he received his diploma
for general studies. After graduation from high school Eddie enlisted in the Army and was inducted on
11/27/1961. Eddie served during the Vietnam war era and received the declaration of Sharpshooter for
the M-1 Rifle. On November 27,1963, Eddie transferred to the reserves where he served until November
26, 1967. Eddie was very proud of his military service and often contributed to Veterans Originations to
assist other veterans.

After the service Eddie moved to Southern California where one of his brothers Kenneth McKean worked
for General Motors had invited him to apply for a job. He worked there for 30 years until he retired. While
working at General Motors he met the love of his life Patricia Papazoglow. After retirement they moved
from Southern California to Carson City Nevada where they shared and enjoyed their lives. Unfortunately,
Patricia preceded Eddie in death in 2018. Until the day he died his heart always longed for her.
Somewhere around 2017 Eddie returned to the home of his youth in Wilton where he resided with his
stepbrother Richard Daniels, bringing with him his beloved gift from Pat his cat named Watson who
always followed him around the house.

Eddie is preceded in death by his father Charles James McKean, his mother Hattie McKean his sister
Florence McKean, his brothers Kenneth McKean, Lloyd McKean, Fred McKean. His sister Marge Junkins
has just recently passed. He is survived by his brothers Wayne McKean (Delinda) of Orangevale, Clifford
McKean (Cindy) of Wilton and his brother Paul McKean (Claire) of Rio Vista plus his stepbrother Richard
Daniels of Wilton who now loves and cares for his cat Watson.

Charles Ivan McKean aka Eddie McKean passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Palm Valley Board
and Care in Elk Grove, California. Eddie is greatly missed and fondly thought of often. Graveside services
will be held at the Hicksville Cemetery in Galt on Friday, May 17 th at 10:00am. Reception to follow.
