Sacramento, California - Charles Richard Landau, age 79, of Sacramento, CA, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2022. His legal career included working for CA's Public Employment Relations Board and various other State departments until 1985, when he opened his private practice as a worker's compensation attorney. In a letter to a friend, he shared that his career representing injured workers "provided me with 25 years of very satisfying work. I was in a role where I could actually try to make a difference."
Charles loved being a doting father to Ethan and Molly and dedicated partner to Julie. He enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, pickleball, and cards, wintering in Palm Desert, and traveling. He was an active member in the Jewish community and a devoted student of Jewish history and Zionism. He had a quick wit, loved to laugh, and valued philanthropic giving.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Charles' family invites you to make a donation to the Jewish National Fund in Charles' honor in lieu of sending flowers.
