Cecilia A. Brest

Cecilia Anne Rohman was born on May 13, 1936 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania to Henry N. ""Harry"" and Evelyn Rohman. Cecilia attended Sharon High School in Sharon PA and graduated in the class of 1954. She soon married James Robert Brest, a member of the US Air Force who was also from Sharon and they began having their children, Karyn Gae Brest, Terri Ann Brest and Susan Renee Brest. Cecilia lived at Langley Air Force Base until the family's departure to Yakota, Japan for four years. They lived off base in a traditional Japanese style home with Japanese maids, seamstresses and Our Lady of Sodality Catholic activities to keep her busy. She learned the art of kimono and Japanese style dance "Sakura, dance of the Cherry Blossoms" While raising her three girls and trying for a little boy the whole time, James Robert Brest, Jr. ""Jimmy"" was born in Japan. After returning to the United States and wanting a baseball team for the husband she had three more sons, Henry Nicholas Brest ""Hank"", Stephen Michael Brest and Scott Thomas Brest. She traveled to a number of states that included Ohio, Michigan, Wyoming for about a few minutes it seemed in each state. California came after the departure from Yakota, Japan and McClellan Base ended up being home until her recent passing. In the latter 60's she left the house for a temporary job at the local JC Penney's where she ending up scheduling and running the entire crew of sales clerks and handled all the personnel matters. She retired in 2003 when a big computer took her place. Cecilia was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4946 Lady's Auxiliary and always enjoyed going there to see her friends. She is survived by her sister, Edna, children, Karyn, Terri, Susan, Jimmy, Hank and Steve, many grandchildren and great grandchildren which all of whom she dearly loved.
