Cecelia Ann Harris

After a short battle with cancer, Cecelia Ann Harris (Roman), loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away at home in Citrus Heights, CA on December 19, 2016. She was 74 years old. Cecelia was born on May 25, 1942, and raised in Citrus Heights, CA, graduating from San Juan High School in 1959. She then attended UC Berkeley, graduating with a degree in psychology in 1963. After a 20-year absence spent living in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Athens, Greece, Cecelia returned to Citrus Heights in 1985, where she lived until her passing. Cecelia was independent and free-spirited with a love of books, animals, and travel. She was able to incorporate her passion for reading into her work, both before and after retiring. Cecelia is survived by sons Steven, Michael (Angela), and David (Marni), as well as her special daughter-in-law Letisha, who was Cecelia's loving caretaker at the end of her illness. She is also survived by her sister Eleanor (William) Count, beloved grandchildren Alexander, Zachary, Caitlin, and Connor Harris, and finally, her nieces Anita and Sandy Count. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 6, 2017, at Sierra View Funeral Chapel, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael, CA 95608, followed immediately by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at East Lawn cemetery, 5757 Greenback Lane. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in Cecelia's name to the American Cancer Society or to the Friends of the Sacramento Library (www.saclibfriends.org).
