Carolyn Rose Augustine

Carolyn Rose Augustine passed away peacefully on December 5, 2022 after suffering from Alzheimer’s Dementia for many, many years. Carolyn was 91 years old. Carolyn leaves behind three children; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. Born on August 14, 1931 in Defiance, Ohio, Carolyn was the youngest of five children. She married the love of her life, Maynard, at the young age of 17. They were married in her family home on September 25, 1948 in Defiance, Ohio. Maynard and Carolyn had six children: Linda Irene Staley (1950); Alan Ray “Butch” (1952); Donald Jay “DJ” (1954) Mary Beth Rhine (1956); Ronnie Lee (Still born) (1958); and Charles Levern “Chuck” (1960). For the most part Carolyn was a stay-at-home mom but did work at a few part-time jobs. She sold Avon, conducted telephone surveys and was a weekend caregiver. Carolyn was devoted to her family and an active member of the Cordova Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, socializing and eating at local restaurants. Carolyn is preceded in death by three of her siblings, twin brothers Harry and Harrold, oldest sister Alyce; her husband of 67 years; her daughter Linda (Augustine) Staley; and her son Donald (DJ). The family will be having a private celebration of Carolyn’s life on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
