Carole Ann Wright was born September 1, 1943 in Sacramento Ca. She passed away on July 1, 2024 after a very sudden decline in her health. She was 80 years old.
She spent her teenage years in Nevada County and graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1961. During those years she was involved in many sports. She was also in the 4-H club and the Nevada County Horseman's and she was a skilled rider, and she loved fishing. One of her highlights was being in the choir picked for the opening ceremonies for the Olympics held in Lake Tahoe.
After graduation she moved to the Sacramento and Roseville area where she spent her remaining years. She was involved with many organizations starting with the Calif. State Military reserve in the 80's.Over the years she was in the Women's Moose, The Red Hats, and The Linus Group that makes Afghans for children. What she enjoyed most was being a volunteer for many years at the yearly Jazz Festival.
She worked for the State of California for over 25 years when she retired early to move her aging mother into her home to care for her.
Carole was a fun loving person and enjoyed partying with friends and many times being the life of the party. She had a knack for making friends easily. She was compassionate, generous, and would always lend a helping hand, and she was also forgiving and never held a grudge. She was noted for her wonderful and beautiful smile that could brighten anyone's day.
Her many hobbies included reading most of the books written by Daniel Steel. She loved board games in which she was very competitive and skilled. Loved music and did a lot of jigsaw puzzles. Over the years she tried and succeeded doing numerous crafts.
Carole was predeceased by her father, Vernon W. Wright, her mother, Ednamae Wright Leach, and her only brother, Douglas V. Wright.
Carole is survived by her sister, Phoebe P. Gunter and her husband Skip Gunter of Grass Valley, and nephew Adam V Wright of MO. Son of Brother Douglas and several cousins. She also leaves behind two wonderful friends of well over 40 years, Charles Senk of Fair Oaks CA., and Donna Keen of Granite Bay, CA. Both, along with her sister were by her side in the final days and hours of her life.
Carole's family is so grateful for the love and support given to Carole by a wonderful young woman, Krystle White. She was the best caregiver ever! But most of all she brought to Carole lots of fun and joy in each and every day.
She wanted no services and will be buried near her family plot. In lieu of flowers she wishes that donations be given to favorite charities.
She is terribly missed but never forgotten by those who loved her so much.
