Carlos "Carlitos" Alvarez Sr., 63, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, in West Sacramento, California. Born on August 1, 1961, in San Jose, California, Carlos lived a life marked by his faith for his lord, love of his family, humor, and an adventurous spirit.
A hardworking and reliable man, Carlos was known for his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. He found great joy in spending time with his mom making sure she was taken care of. He adored his children and grandkids, watching his face glow when he was around them was a true blessing. He cherished the time he got to spend with his sisters, brother-in laws, nieces and nephews. Carlos loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, always cheering them on with enthusiasm in everything they did. His love for the outdoors, his family and friends were evident in the way he spent a lot of his time throughout his life.
In his early years Carlos dedicated himself to mentoring young people as a Mosquito Club Peer Counselor and youth coach. His guidance and encouragement left a lasting impact on many lives. This impact will continue to be felt for many generations to come leaving his legacy for all to remember. Carlos’s passion for helping, his sense of humor and adventurous nature made him a beloved presence among those who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Anita Delgado; his children, Carlos Alvarez Jr., Monique Alvarez, and Joseph Alvarez; and his cherished grandchildren; Carlos III, Crystal, Cassandra, Destiny, Jacob, Celina, and Isabella. He also leaves behind his sisters Roseanna, Veronica, and Judy; nephews Manuel, Frankie, Elijah, and Isaiah; and nieces Sabrina, Jessica, and Evette. He was preceded in death by his father, John Alvarez.
A memorial service will be held on March 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sierra View Funeral Chapel, located at 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd., Carmichael, CA 95608. A reception will follow at VFW Center Township Post 6158 at 8990 Kruitof Way in Fair Oaks.
Carlos will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
