Carl Mohr, a devoted husband, father, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024 at the age of 76. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1948 to Carl and Olga Mohr, Carl moved with his family to Sacramento in the early 1950s, where he would spend the rest of his life. He graduated from Encina High School in 1966 before joining the Navy, bravely serving his country during the Vietnam War on River Assault Craft. For his service, Carl was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat “V” and a Purple Heart.
Upon returning home, Carl attended Sacramento State University, earning a degree in Business Administration. His career spanned over 30 years in the insurance industry, where he held various management roles and became known for his dedication and integrity.
In 1984, Carl married the love of his life, Linda, and together they built a life of love and laughter. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Carl and Linda raised two sons, Matthew and Michael, with whom Carl shared many of his greatest joys. His bond with his family was unbreakable, whether he was rebuilding cars with Matt or cheering on the Sacramento Kings with Michael. Carl welcomed his cherished daughter-in-law, Chelsea, to the family in 2013. He was also a loving grandfather to Madeleine.
After retiring in 2009, Carl embraced his passion for travel, exploring 44 states, 18 National Parks, and 28 countries. Known for his generosity and humor, Carl was a beloved friend to many. His love of food—from humble food trucks to fine dining establishments—was as vibrant as his personality.
Carl Mohr will be remembered as a witty, kind, and caring man who deeply cherished his family and he made the world a better place through his warmth, courage, and dedication to others. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 12th, 2025 from 1:30 to 4:00 pm at The Club at Westpark. The address is 3240 Kennerleigh Parkway in Roseville, California.
The family invites you to honor Carl’s memory by gathering with loved ones over a meal, sharing stories, laughter, and memories. Celebrate the joy he brought to our lives by spending time with those who mean the most to you. Carl would want nothing more than for us all to cherish these precious moments together."
