Calvin Heath Evans

Calvin Heath Evans was born in Madera, CA on August 29th, 1944 to Viola Evans and Mailou James Reed. “Pete”, as he was affectionately called by friends and family alikeattended Sherman Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High and Madera Union High School where he was active in track and field, winning various awards. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for four years before being honorably discharged. He worked various administrative jobs and was an avid reader. His intellectual pursuits also led him to take some courses at Laney College in Oakland, CA. He lived in Carmichael, CA the last 12 years of his life and enjoyed spending time with close friends, watching his favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers play on tv, spending time with his grandsons, and talking to his 5 daughters and son. He was preceded in death by his mother Viola, his father M.J., and his brother Hershel. He is survived by his son Bernard, his 5 daughters Erika, Nicole, Kelly, Monica, and Tianna, 7grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
