Beverly Ann Slattery was born December 1, 1933 in Denison, Iowa. She died peacefully on Thanksgiving Day November 24, 2022 at the age of 88 missing her birthday by exactly one week. She was the daughter of Herbert and Marguerite Moeller. Preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. Thomas G. Slattery Jr. and brothers Barry Moeller, Roger Moeller and Neal Moeller. She is survived by her children; Teresa Buehler, Thomas Slattery, Bridgette Slattery, Kevin Slattery; family members; Ken Buehler, Simone Slattery and Richard Walzcak: brother Darrell Moeller; grandchildren Hailey White, Lindsey Buehler, Brian Buehler, Ashley Buehler, Nathan Slattery and Eva Slattery, and brother in laws Bill Slattery and Jerry McKay and Sister in laws Mary McKay, Jane Slattery, Mary Ann Slattery, Vera Moeller, Luanne Moeller, and 32 nieces and nephew and beyond.
Beverly was the only girl of 5 children. She grew up on a beautiful dairy, cattle and agriculture farm in the rural hills of Denison, Iowa. She and her brothers walked or sledded to a one-room schoolhouse depending on the weather. The big city of Omaha, Nebraska and Saint Joseph's Nursing School called her. Those years were an exciting time for her as she loved to tell her kids and grandkids of her independence and working as a head nurse. She met Thomas Slattery, late in her 20's, a budding new dentist. A whirlwind romance which led to an engagement and wedding in three months. They struck out to try life in California and 4 children followed in 51/2 short years. They fell in love with Fair Oaks and settled there for the rest of their years together.
Beverly was a dedicated wife, mother, friend, neighbor and homemaker. She loved to play the piano whom she was taught by the nuns back in catechism. She came from a long line of musicians. She would play and sing especially at Christmas and we would all gather around to sing with her. She also loved sewing and sewed so many clothes and costumes for all the children. She was a devout Catholic and loved the bible and all the teachings of Jesus. She also was a very good cook and was always stirring something up in the kitchen. She especially loved to feed the grandchildren. She would ask "Are you starved?" when they walked through her door.
Beverly is at peace now for what the family is very grateful. Donations to Alzheimers and Alanon Family Groups.
