Barbara Reedy Schmit

Born August 9,1947. Passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, surrounded by dear friends including her long time loving caregiver, Linda.
Barbara was born and raised in Sacramento. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Schmit, son Benjamin Steinberg, parents Robert and Barbara Reedy, and brother David Reedy. She is survived by her brother Robert (Peggy) Reedy, brother-in-law Nick (Karen) Schmit and many loving family members and friends.
She had a great passion for her animals who adored her and brought her comfort. Her German Shepard, Feonia, has been at her side for the last 12 years.
Barbara was a registered nurse and worked in various departments. She worked over 25 years in Pediatric ICU at Sutter Memorial Hospital. She is fondly remembered by physicians and co-workers as a brilliant nurse. Family and friends will remember her unique personality and wonderful sense of humor.

A celebration of life is being planned at a later date for Barb and Dave.
She will be remembered forever, as she was so very unforgettable, the life of the party, a strong and sometimes daring friend. Rest in peace, Barbie.
