Ava Frances Bolima

Ava Frances-Mari Bolima tragically passed away on March 12, 2024 at the age of 17.  Born on May 23, 2006 to Greg and Jennifer Bolima in Carmichael, she was the bright light that illuminated the lives of anybody who knew her.   Ava was a senior at Del Campo High School where she played for the girls golf team for three years and was expected to graduate this June.

Ava's passions included golf, cats, silly tiktok videos, Roblox, food, Disneyland, Mario, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Ava was born with 22q deletion syndrome and was a survivor of three open heart surgeries, a stroke, and scoliosis.  From an early age she showed an unnatural fighting spirit and never let any condition or diagnosis bring her down.  She had the best smile and silliest most contagious laugh.  Ava lived life her way with no concern about what others thought.  She didn't listen to the outside world, could care less what everyone else was doing.  She was herself and stood so tall and proud in who that was.  She checked in on those she loved and had an uncanny way of cheering up anyone who needed it.  She carried just love in her heart and kindness in her actions and words.  She smiled so genuinely you couldn't help but smile back and feel special and stronger in her presence.  The best way we can think to honor Ava is to move forward a little each day practicing the same.  Be true to you, be a loyal and fierce friend, be strong when you feel weak, be brave even in the unknown, don't be afraid to be funky and spunky and shake the world up, and spread so much love everywhere you go.  Be unique, real,  and so unforgettable.

Ava is survived by her loving parents Jennifer and Greg Bolima; her older brother Gregory, younger brother Mason, sister-in-law Stella, nephew Gregory, and a large circle of extended family and friends who all mourn her passing.

No memorial service is immediately planned.  The family will provide details of a future service when that time comes.
