Augusto Gonzalez June 17, 1927 - November 7, 2017 Sacramento -- Augusto Gonzalez, aged 90, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on November 7th, 2017. Born on June 17, in Santander, Spain, to Francisco and Eugenia Gonzalez, Augusto later immigrated to the United States in 1954 and returned to Spain twelve years later where he met his wife Maria Concepcion (Conchita) Vinao. Married in 1967, they moved to the United States to settle in Tracy, CA. Over the years, Augusto worked as a rancher, owned a lawn service, and worked at H.J. Heinz Co. He retired from H.J. Heinz Co. at the age of 65, but continued working with his lawn service until the age of 80. Augusto celebrated many special milestones this past year, including moving to Sacramento to be closer to his children and grandchildren. In addition, Augusto celebrated his 90th birthday and his 50th wedding anniversary to his wife Conchita. He also attended his first grandchild’s graduation from Rocklin High School and proudly watched as she continued her education at UCLA. Augusto was a hard worker and determined to provide the opportunity for his children to attend college in order to have a better and easier life. He showed his family strength and taught them perseverance. Augusto will be remembered for his love of walking, his beautiful smile, and his love and devotion to his family. Augusto was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed for his energy and joy of life. Augusto is survived by his loving wife, Conchita, his two children Maria (Rick) Pitts and Steve (Kamryn) Gonzalez, and his four grandchildren Aliena, Alec, Evan, and Roman. He is also survived by his four brothers and extended family in Spain. A Catholic Rosary Mass will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 10am, at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael, CA 95608. Burial immediately following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Center, 7101 Verner Ave, Citrus Heights, CA 95621. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
