Memories and Condolences for Arnold Krogh
Arnold (“Arnie”) Krogh died on November 18, 2024 after a long, heroic battle against
Parkinson’s decease. He was a stalwart in his community and in the construction industry and
he will be missed by his family and friends. All were enriched by knowing him.
Arnie went to Santa Ynez High school in Solvang and graduated in the class of 1961. He
attended Stanford University on a football scholarship and received a BS in Industrial
Engineering.
With his high school sweetheart, Mildred (“Millie”) Frederick, Arnie moved to Sacramento 52
years ago. He joined Crown Zellerbach Company and spent 29 years in the building industry.
He also began a lifetime of community service. Arnie was a legendary member of the young
person’s service club, the Active 20-30 Club Sacramento, No.1. He was a Past President, Past
National President and Past International President. He was awarded the honor of Past Active
Life Member. He was also involved in the Golden West Track Meet, was the long time
announcer for Casa Robles HS athletics and participated in many other community activities.
He was renowned for his leadership, caring and charisma.
In 2017, Arnie lost Millie after many happy years together. They raised two beloved children,
Jason and Anne Marie.
He enjoyed the past 6 years with his Life Partner Sakeenah Salaam and her family, friends & children. She has
been his joy, companion, caregiver, and his love. And he showed it. They enjoyed many
activities together: Concerts, the State Fair, Holidays events movie's and his grandchildren’s Broadway Musical performance's activities.
He was delighted to see his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and prosper
and become people he would be forever proud of. He rooted for the Kings, 49ers and his
beloved Stanford. GO CARDINALS!
Arnie was preceded in death, by Millie and his parents, Anna M. Espersen and Arnold Judson
Krogh. Arnie is survived by Sakeenah Salaam, as well as, daughter, Anne Marie Krogh, son
