Armando Gonzales Armando was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 11, 1933, to Julian and Maria Concepcion Gonzales and was the oldest of 8 children. Armando enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served for 4 years and was honorably discharged in 1956. He went on to work in Civil Service at Kelly, AFB in San Antonio, Texas. Transferred to California and worked in Civil Service at McClellan, AFB in Sacramento and retired in 1988 after 35 years of service. Enjoyed a modest life with his beloved “Honey” by his side. Working, retiring, traveling, entertaining traveling visitors, gardening, and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Armando passed away on February 14, 2022 in his home with his family by his side. Armando is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Guadalupe. His sons, Dan (Kata) and Rob (Deb), and daughter Mandi (Dave Weldy). Grandsons Armando Gonzales and Jeremiah Gonzales. Granddaughters Stephanie (Vance Charvo), Laura (Brandon Wehe), Lisa (Ricardo Arguinzoni) and Rachel Gonzales. Great-granddaughters Olivia, Charlotte, Reagan, Aurora and Emma, and great-grandson Mason. Also, surviving Armando are his two brothers, Robert and wife Mary Gonzales and Ray Gonzales, his two sisters, Yolanda Rodriguez and Elizabeth Guerrero, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, Maria Concepcion Gonzales and father Julian R. Gonzales, his sister, Minerva Galan, and his two brothers Julian Gonzales and David Gonzales. Private funeral services on March 10, 2022 at Sierra View Chapel and interment at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
